FALL 2012: CHOREOGRAPHER SHOWCASE & DANCER AUDITIONS
The Choreographer Showcase is an opportunity for dancers to preview all of the dances in the show before selecting which pieces they would like to register for. This allows dancers to better understand each choreographer's style, ask questions, and decide whether or not they would like to register or audition for that particular dance.
Dancer Auditions will be held directly following the Choreographer Showcase. Not every dance in the show will require an audition, however there will be several dances that do. You must audition for the "Audition-Only" dances if you would like to be considered for that piece. If you prefer to only register for "Open Dances", you do not need to audition. ***If you cannot attend auditions but would still like to be considered for the "Audition-Only" dances, you must contact the Director at least a week in advance and send a video of a previous dance you've performed or danced in.***

All interested choreographers should:
1 - Download our Choreographer Information Packet
2 - Fill out the Choreographer Audition Form on page 3
3 - Email danceworksboston@gmail.com
to sign-up for a 10 minute audition time.
WHAT IS REQUIRED:
All choreographers should fill out the Choreographer Audition Form in advance & prepare 6-10 eight counts of choreography to the song listed as your #1 choice on the Choreographer Audition Form. You will turn in your Choreographer Audition Form at the audition & then perform your 6-10 eight counts of choreography once or twice. Only you and the Director will be in the room at this time.
All choreographers should arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled audition time. Choreographers should arrive, stretch, and stay in the waiting area directly outside of the studio until your audition time.

Young Dancers' Program Applicants must schedule and attend an audition prior to enrollment. Auditions will be held on the following Sundays: February 5, March 18, April 29 and June 3 in the dance studio at Concord Academy. Applicants are enrolled on a first-come, first-serve basis so students are strongly encouraged to audition early as enrollment is limited.
Held in tandem with the main workshop, Summer Stages 2 provides advanced beginner and intermediate-level students with the opportunity to strengthen their technical skills and expand their knowledge of contemporary dance. 4 pm Audition.
Contemporary Dance Intensive is a program designed for serious dance students, ages 12-16, that offers rigorous training in contemporary ballet and modern dance in a supportive, challenging, and non-competitive environment, and serves as a springboard to the main Summer Stages Dance Workshop. 3 pm Audition.
