“For the Children” is Dance Currents’ collaboration with Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of Boston, as part of Pro Arte’s Salon Series, and the Newton Festival of the Arts, repeated at Integrarte, Brown Jr. High and The Dance Complex.

“For the Children” is based on the separation of families, as immigrants try to cross the border into the United States. It has six sections: Loss, Love, Shadows, At Your Feet, Phantoms and March. The dancers are Kirsten Glaser, Avery Saulnier De Reyes, Alex Jimenez, and Taryn Scott-Kolbe. These dances are set to six of Edvard Grieg’s “Lyric Pieces”, and will be played live by Pro Arte.

Also on the program is Li-Ann Lim in “Limon Etude.”

The performances at Brown Jr. High and The Dance Complex will not include the musicians.
