First Annual 24-Hour ChoreoFest, presented by Luminarium Dance

Luminarium Dance presents 24-Hour ChoreoFest

Looking for BRAVE Boston-area choreographers.

Do you work well under pressure? Are you itching and inspired to create brand-new work?

Luminarium Dance Company is proud to announce its first annual 24-Hour ChoreoFest.  Modeled on a 24-Hour Play Festival, six local choreographers and companies will be given the opportunity to create fresh new work during one overnight stay at the Dance Complex, and to perform the new piece in a culminating concert the next day.  All styles of dance are welcome.  While the sky is the limit for your new choreography, please note we are not accepting solo work and pieces must be kept to 10 minutes. All new work will be fully produced and promoted.  Please visit www.LuminariumDance.org/ChoreoFest for information about the festival and to apply; applications are due by 5pm on May 21, 2012.

Dance Residency at the Boston Center for the Arts
Application Deadline: Friday, June 29th by 5PM - please note: this is not a postmark date

Boston Center for the Arts - Dance Residency

The Dance Residency at the Boston Center for the Arts gives choreographers the opportunity to create dance without the financial burden of rehearsal studio or theater rental. The BCA will serve as the host for the selected company and through marketing support, help develop an audience for residency events. This alleviates the choreographer’s workload of certain logistical and financial items, enabling the artist to focus completely on the creation of work and immersion into the process.

How to become a Dance Resident at the BCA:
Artists must submit proposals and be accepted to participate in this program. Applications are accepted through an annual open call and Dance Residency companies are selected by panel process.

Visit our website for more details, or click here to download the application.
