The passing of a matriarch

Boston Dance Alliance is sad to share the news of the death of Dorothy Elizabeth Tucker, dancer in the Prometheus Elders Ensemble, Back Pocket Dancers, Back Porch Dancers and Around the Corner Movers.  A leader in services for children and underserved community, she was also recognized as a pillar of the long-established West Medford African-American community.

BDA featured Dorothy Elizabeth as our “banner girl” photo on our Membership page, because her joie de vivre truly represented the joy of dance extending throughout a person’s lifetime.
