Held every July, the three-week workshop not only includes rigorous training in ballet, modern, improvisation, composition and repertory, but also offers an unprecedented opportunity for seasoned professionals, advanced level students and new choreographic talent to work together on the creation and performance of original new works. Led by from the world’s premiere contemporary companies, the program ranks among the most respected and innovative summer dance programs in the nation.
Classes and rehearsals are held in Concord Academy’s state-of-the-art, 2,500-square-foot dance studio designed by renowned architect Graham Gund, as well as in the school’s performing arts center and at a variety of other locations throughout the campus and the town of Concord.
Housing is available on campus. Students and faculty also have access to Concord Academy’s meal service and full range of fitness facilities (including a swimming pool and cardiovascular and strength training equipment).
The application deadline for the Summer Stages Dance Workshop is April 30th. We understand the complex schedules of professional dancers in the Boston area and are committed to making the Workshop accessible to all interested and qualified professionals by offering customized programs that meet the needs, interests, and financial and schedule constraints of dancers in our community. Our 15th anniversary faculty represents one of the strongest groups of dance artists ever to teach and perform at Summer Stages, offering an incredibly diverse and intensive training opportunity.

After 25 years of performing and teaching Aerial Dance, we are excited to be offering our first Summer Aerial Dance Intensive! The one-week Intensive - JULY 9-13 will be held in the Ipswich Moving Company Studio. Under the direction of Janet Taisey Craft and Jenny Carlson, explore aerial dance with CANVAS SLING and LOOPED CLIMBING ROPE. Daily morning aerial technique classes, learn Company Repertory, One on one coaching in the afternoon, Aerial Dane Performance by students on the last day. Housing is available upon request. While in coastal Ipswich enjoy the many attractions including Crane Beach, Local Art Galleries, Hiking Trails, Nature Preserves, and River Kayaking.
