The REACH Summer Outreach/Teen Apprenticeship program at Boston University is designed for teens ages 13-18. Dancers involved in the program will learn technique, choreography and how to teach dance, working with professional dancers to create a performance. Over the course of the 5-week summer program, dancers perform at 11 sites throughout Greater Boston and take master classes in choreography, ballroom, hip-hop and more.
We are looking for students who are proficient in at least one style of dance, cooperative learners, and willing to learn other styles. Interest in choreographing is welcome but not required. The audition will consist of a modern warm-up covering some basic ballet technique, followed by a hip-hop jazz combination. Applicants have the opportunity to show a short solo that showcases their technical, performance and/or choreographic strengths.
The program runs this summer (M-F) from:
July 2 – July 20, 9am – 2pm
AND July 23 – August 3, 8am – 2pm
