Choreographing Unique Spaces: Small & Intimate at The Dance Complex’s Summer Sizzle Dance Festival
In two mini-institutes, Peter DiMuro, along with invited guest teachers, will explore strategies for creating work in multiple spaces and dimensions, through the engagement of a site, its history and the individual dance-maker’s unique perspective. We’ll also use writing, interview techniques and research as tools to expand our notion of how to illuminate a space and all that it holds – not merely place movement next to it!
This series will focus on the individual maker/performer and a site and scale that suggests close up intimacy. Alternating between tools/strategy and working sessions, participants should be self-motivated and both physically and intellectually committed to creating and sharing their work.
