A Dance Complex Special Dance-Making Workshop with Amy Smith

In this workshop, Amy Smith will guide you through Headlong’s tried and true methods of generating dancer-sourced movement material. These “quick and dirty” collaborative movement studies will be generated using Action/Reaction duets, repeated micro-movements, Impossible Unisons and other choreographic assignments. The idea is to make something real that comes from your own artistic interests and idiosyncratic movement vocabulary, before analyzing, finishing, or making it “good”.
