Reach: Boston University’s Summer Outreach/Teen Apprenticeship Dance Program
The Reach Summer Dance Program is a five week IN-PERSON summer program for students eager to explore their passion for dance and be involved in the community. Sponsored by the Boston University Department of Physical Education, Recreation & Dance, it provides a mix of instruction, job training, community service, performance, and college preparation. Need based scholarships provided.
Students will experience firsthand what it’s like to tour with a professional dance company and be an assistant teacher for dance workshops. Participants will take classes in a variety of dance forms, including hip-hop, ethnic, jazz, modern, and more, being taught by and dancing alongside faculty members. They will collaborate to create a 45-minute performance, which they will tour around the Greater Boston area.
Looking for students who are skilled in at least one genre of dance and open to learning other forms, trained at dance studios or self-taught. Applications accepted until spots are full.
