Time to Dance meets Brazilian Forro
Wanderson is a dance teacher and performer originally from Mato Grosso, Brazil. He has been dancing in the Boston area for 15 years and started dancing when he was 18 years old. Wanderson danced professionally in Brazil, dancing regional styles such as rasquiado cuiabano, lamabdao and samba. Today, Wanderson dances salsa, bachata, kizomba, and of course forro, which he began dancing when he immigrated to the United States. He participated in the dance group Noche Latina for one year and Wanderson is the founder of the dance group “Os Forrozeiros.” Os Forrozeiros Dance Group has been performing and giving classes in the Boston area for 3 years and is based out of Somerville, MA. The group works to spread Forro as a dance style and also works with different charities in the community performing and supporting social causes.
