Commonwealth Ballet is looking for a few new company dancers for the 2010-2011 Season, and will hold open auditions for non-paid company positions on September 12.
The 2010-2011 Season includes: The Nutcracker, a Spring repertory concert including new choreography, A Little Night Dancing (a mixed repertory program), several small programs, as well as guest appearances in 3-5 outside productions.
In general, we are looking for male and female dancers who have a strong technical training and who are eager to commit to the technical, emotional and performance aspects of the Company.
Auditioners must be at least 13 years old on or before September 15, 2010. Females should have completed at least two years of pointe work and will be expected to audition on pointe.
Founded in 1992, the Commonwealth Ballet is a pre-professional, regional company in the MetroWest area. The Company has a well-established reputation for artistic excellence.

The Boston Blazers are looking for dedicated, talented, outgoing, attractive and physically fit dancers with solid jazz / hip-hop technique and extensive performance experience for the 2011 Sparks Dance Team.Responsibilities include performance at all 2011 home games at TD Garden and participation on various promotional/charity activities and mini Sparkler dance clinics.
Weekly rehearsals are held on Monday night 7:30-10pm at Boston Athletic Club starting September 27th through the end of the season (April/May).Dancers must provide their own transportation to and from auditions, practices, games, promotions and clinics.Applicants must be 18 years of age and a high school graduate.This is an unpaid position.

Celebrating its 28th Nutcracker season, Dance Prism announces auditions for the 2010 Nutcracker Touring Ballet Cast, Sunday, September 12, 33 Bradford Street, West Concord, Ma. While Dance Prism also holds auditions for regional cast members, Dancers who are seriously interested in being considered for Dance Prism's Nutcracker Touring Cast should attend this audition rather than the regional cast auditions.
Audition Times:
10:00 am – Level I: Ballet Students – girls & boys ages 7-9
11:00 am --Level II: Ballet Students – girls & boys ages 9-12, and all students under 5' tall
12:30 pm -- Level III: Intermediate Ballet Students – females and males 12 years old and older over 5‘ tall (advanced dancers should be prepared to stay for Level IV if requested)
1:30 pm -- Level IV: (By invitation from Level III audition) Advanced female and male dancers. Pointe for women, partnering for men.
Auditions are open to trained dancers age 7 through professional adults. There are no audition fees.
Regional Auditions are held in Andover (9/24), Littleton (9/24)
Grafton (9/25), Needham (10/2), Wayland (10/2), and Fall River/New

Dance Prism performs throughout New England with the goal of bringing affordable professional ballet into the communities. The Nutcracker Touring Cast does approximately 11
performances in 5 cities during November and December. Expect 1-2 hour

Regional Casts dance in 1-3 performances in 1 city; time commitment
for Regional Cast performers involves 1 rehearsal hour per week for
approximately six weeks in or near the performance city

DVD audition is ongoing as availability permits. The School at Jacob's Pillow Professional Advancement Programs offer a unique experience to train and perform with dance professionals. Participants of all programs have the opportunity to perform for members of the public in free and ticketed events, attend Festival performances, talks, exhibits, master classes, and have access to the Archives as part of this immersion experience in dance.
