At The Studio (Middleton, MA)

Thursdays & Sundays @ 8:00 pm to 9:30 pm

Organization/Presented by: The Studio
Genre: Modern

If you are training/dancing and want a challenging class, or you are an experienced dancer working 9-5 who is looking for a creative outlet, the intermediate/advanced class is for you. Class will emphasize the use of five key muscles (the adductors, the hip flexors, the upper inner back of the thigh, the glutes, and the all-important abdomen), and how to maintain alignment inside complex movement. Combinations will build strength and refine your ability to quickly assess the rhythm, weight, quality, and timing of movement. Throughout, class will focus on performance presence and dancing together.

The intermediate/advanced class will help you take your dancing to the next level:

  • Modern dance emphasizes self-expression and individual style, and you will be encouraged to think about who you are as a dancer
  • Modern dance training focuses on finding alignment in the body, not in the mirror, and you will develop a deeper understanding of placement
  • Learning new movement in every class will take you off autopilot, and you will learn to assess movement quickly, making you more physically and mentally agile
  • Modern dance training will teach you to self-correct alignment problems, allowing you to reduce ongoing problems and have a much longer dance life

Sundays, 10:00-11:30 AM

Thursdays, 8:00-9:30 PM

Class is ongoing and open to adults and advanced teenagers who have at least 5+ years of dance training.

Have you heard about CardioTapNYC™ ?

We're NYC's fast growing Tap Dance Fitness Fusion Method, now holding classes in BOSTON, and we'd like to invite you to try class for FREE!

Wednesday, January 7th at 6PM at the new Z-Spot studios in Back Bay

Burn 500+ calories with this surprisingly addictive tap dance fitness workout! Our repetitive interval structure gives students the opportunity to get a heart-pounding workout, vanquish unwanted pounds, and master their tap skills.

Space is limited. Please email CardioTapNYC@yahoo.com Subject: Boston/Free Class to get your name on the list.

CardioTapNYC™ was built by Musical Theatre Professionals with you in mind. Co-Creators Krystle Armstrong and Kristin Holland Bohr were looking for an alternative to hamster-ing it out on the treadmill or spinning their minds away and wondered, "What if we rent a room and just keep tapping?" Since then, they've developed a method that combines theatre tap with interval training and traditional fitness to tunes from the oldies for a completely sweaty, fun, and effective workout.

Our motto is "All Sweat, No Judgment" and we really mean it! Students of all fitness and tap levels are welcome and should expect to be challenged in an extremely fun and supportive environment.
