There’s still time to join us for a low-cost weekend at Pinewoods to celebrate a beautiful dance tradition of eastern Transylvania. That’s two nights, seven meals, eight hours of dance classes, two evening dance parties, after-parties with Hungarian goodies, pálinka/liqueur tasting, beautiful Pinewoods camp, and more.

Acclaimed teacher and dancer Dénes Takácsy will teach the couple dance from Vajdaszentiványi, a showy and popular dance at Hungarian dance houses, along with some Mezöségi táncok, the most popular Hungarian dance of them all. Some Balkan and Swing dancing are also planned! Evening dance parties will feature Fényes Banda of NYC playing traditional Hungarian and Transylvanian dances accompanied by teaching circles. We’ve reached critical mass with dancers coming from MA, RI, NH, NY and California – a mix of Hungarians, folks with Hungarian ancestry, and international folk dancers; both experienced and less experienced dancers; and amazingly, an even mix of leads and follows; but there’s still room for you to join the fun, if you register online today!

While this program is designed for adults over age 18 with some Hungarian or other couple dance experience, a limited number of campers under the age of 18 can be accepted. Non-dancing companions are welcome to attend; while they will not take classes, they will be able to relax surrounded by the beauty that is Pinewoods, enjoy the great camp food, and participate in all the evening festivities!
