Solidarities across Borders: Art, Activism, and Activist Research in Boston (Massachusett Territory) and Beyond
The Otros Saberes section’s commitment to collaborative, transformative research and exchange between differently-positioned knowledge producers animates our second annual pre-conference.
Solidarities across Borders will highlight the intersections of art, activism, and research, cultivating dialogue between Boston-area activists and artists, activist scholars, and LASA members for a full day of collective reflection on the possibilities of and challenges to building alliances across different forms of knowledge and struggle.
With roundtables focused on indigenous dialogues across political boundaries; the intersections between immigrant justice, gender equality, and workers’ rights; and race, gentrification, and colonialism in Puerto Rico and the diaspora, we invite you to spend the day with us considering how collaborative research and cultural production in greater Boston (Wampanoag Territory) and across the Americas can support, uplift, and produce new understandings of these struggles for justice.
