Boston Ballet II performs an eclectic program featuring two world premieres; a 19th Century work by Arthur St. Leon; composer Amilcare Ponchielle’s Dance of the Hours; and a romantic duet by Tony winning choreographer Christopher Wheeldon.
Two Boston Ballet company dancers will present world premieres. Artist My’kal Stromile created a work to Excerpt from Steve Reich’s “The Four Sections” and Artist Lauren Flower created a piece to music by Andrew Bird. Ms. Flowers commission has come out of Boston Ballet’s CHOREOGRAPHER INITIATIVE.
Boston Ballet II dancers are young professionals starting their stage careers. The program represents a microcosm of Boston Ballet’s main repertoire with traditional classicism, neo-classicism, and cutting edge new works.
