Boston Ballet will be hosting a film screening of “Only When I Dance”  featuring Boston Ballet company member Irlan Silva.

The film follows two poor Brazilian ballet students in their quest to escape the slums of Rio de Janiero. One critic notes that “what sets this documentary apart from so many other ballet films is the genuine struggle of Irlan and Isabela’s parents to help their children realize their dreams.”

A Q&A session with Irlan will follow. The film is in Portuguese with English subtitles and is 78 minutes long.
