Film Screening & Conversation: Initiation— In Love Solidarity
See a world premiere screening of the dance film Initiation– In Love Solidarity presented at the Richard A. and Susan F. Smith Campus Center, in partnership with Harvard Common Spaces.
The screening will be followed by a conversation with the film’s creator and choreographer Nailah Randall-Bellinger, cinematographer Christina Belinsky, and dancers Jenny Oliver and Toni S. Singleton, moderated by multimedia journalist and 2021-22 Nieman Fellow Felice León.
Created in residence at Harvard Dance Center, Initiation– In Love Solidarity is a choreographic narrative exploring the embodiment of the Middle Passage, and the resilience and evolving identities of women in the African diaspora.
Please note that due to the current COVID-19 protocols for the Smith Campus Center, in person participation is open to Harvard ID holders only. The broader public is invited to attend via the live stream, which will be sent as a link to all registrants. Masks are required for all in-person participants.
