| Needham High School is looking for a new JV/Club Dance Team Coach. The team practices 2 times per week. The past few years practices have been Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00PM – 8:00PM; however, practice times can be flexible. The team performs at the home football and basketball games, and competes at a few competitions throughout the fall and winter seasons. Tryouts for JV (and Varsity) start 8/24/26. Coach expected to attend and help score/judge the tryouts. Desired qualifications: previous dance training, the ability to choreograph a short halftime routine and competitive routine (pom or jazz). |

| Abilities Dance Boston is seeking understudy dancers for Vel’Fyra: Firebird pt. 2 performance. These dancers will understudy for core ADB dancers and potentially perform in an ensemble piece. This show is directed and choreographed by Ellice Patterson with original score by Andrew Choe. Rehearsals will be directed by Dara Capley. This restaging of the June 2026 show will be performed September 18 – 20, 2026 at The Strand Theatre in Boston. • Friday, September 18 (Call time 6:00PM, Show at 8:00PM) • Saturday, September 19 (Call time 5:00PM, Show at 7:00PM) • Sunday, September 20 (Call time 12:00PM, Show at 2:00PM) Rehearsals • Virtual rehearsals: Thursdays from 6:00PM – 8:00PM beginning July 16. • In person rehearsals: Saturday, August 8 and Saturday, September 12 from 12:30PM – 4:30PM. Paymnet • Dancers are considered independent contracters. • Dancers will be paid $20 per hour for rehearsals and $25 per hour for show week runs. • Payment via check at conclusion of performances (September 20). This will be a restaging from the June 2026 show which will be September 18 – 20, 2026 at the Strand Theatre in Boston. (Friday September 18th show time is 8 pm with a call time of 6 pm. Saturday September 19th show time is 7 pm with call time of 5 pm. Sunday September 20th show time will be 2 pm, with call time of 12 pm.) Virtual rehearsals will happen 6 pm – 8 pm on Thursdays starting July 16th. In-person rehearsals are scheduled for 12:30-4:30 on 8/8 and 9/12. Dancers will be considered independent contractors. | Abilities Dance is centered on disrupting antiquated beliefs and promoting disability justice. The community engagement work consists of teaching adaptive dance education and lectures on disability more to increase equity. This role falls within our recurring dance education. ADB is looking for teachers to go on location to one or more sites and teach students within the given age ranges and time frames adaptive dance rooted in ballet, but can expand to other genres as consistent with the teacher’s own practice. General Responsibilities / Duties • Teach assigned classes consistent with the program curriculum • Class preparation and consistent communication with school and Abilities Dance staff. • Attend all faculty meetings, curriculum meetings, and professional development seminars as scheduled. • Respond to communications within two business days. • Flexibility to work with students of all ages. • High level of comfort working with individuals and families with disabilities and from diverse backgrounds. • Commitment to building intersectional disability justice asset based educational practice. • Ability to work and commute within the Greater Boston area. • Comply with organization’s COVID protocols of masking in person. • Complete Goal Sheet Template given by Abilities Dance for each site. • Collect Demographic Survey information on student populations. • Perform all other duties appropriate to part-time faculty as requested. Requirements: • 5 years of dance experience. • 1-2 years of teaching ballet/modern/contemporary. • Willingness to be able to learn adapted dance practices. (adapted dance experience a plus, but not required). • Flexibility, excellent communication skills, and good work ethic. • Consistent communication with Director of Community Engagement. • Multilungual skills a plus. • Must pass CORI check. • Open to different age ranges as it will very depending on location.
