Roots & Routes: Dancing Through Time
Roots & Routes will return this fall with two evenings of live music, dance, projections, and archival storytelling. The concert will serve as the culminating celebration of Dancing Through Time: The Untold Stories of The Dance Complex, a multi-year storytelling and archival project supported by Mass Humanities. Audiences will experience ritual, installation, percussive and social dance, and contemporary performance, all highlighting the depth and diversity of artistry that calls The Dance Complex home. Together, these performances will honor our history while imagining new creative futures. Saturday night will conclude with a post-show dance party—extending the celebration beyond the stage!
Artists include Olivia Moon, Akili Jamal Haynes, Lonnie Stanton, Sean Bjerke, the Floorlords, New Duncan Dance Project, Jean Apolon, the Bang Group, Modern Connections Collective/Jenny Oliver, Lorraine Chapman, and more!
This program is funded in part by Mass Humanities, which receives support from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and is an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. This program is also supported in part by funding from the Cambridge Community Foundation.
