North Shore’s premier modern dance company, Forty Steps Dance, will perform new works in a free community performance at DCR’s Red Rock Park, Rain OR Shine!

Artistic Director Sallee Slagle will premiere new site-specific choreography set to the live acoustic music of Senegalese luminary Mamadou Diop and Friends. Slagle’s new works are inspired by trees and the interconnection of their soaring heights and deep roots. The company will include the tree at the center of Red Rock Park as part of their stage design and a dance partner. The performance will last approximately 40 minutes and include a series of vignettes featuring group, trio and duet dance sections. Forty Steps Dance is currently in its 24th season and continues to be recognized as a premier non-profit cultural arts organization.
