2018 Boston Dance Alliance Dancer Health Day
In partnership with Spaulding Outpatient Centers — Dance Medicine Program and under the leadership of BDA Board member Dr. Lauren Elson, director of the Spaulding Dance Medicine program, Boston Dance Alliance repeats last fall’s popular day of dancer wellness screenings!
This valuable national program brings together experienced clinicians from Spaulding, Children’s Hospital, the MGH Institute of Health Professions, and private practice to flag medical issues and keep you dancing your best.
Freelance professional dancers and very active recreational dancers are strongly encouraged to participate.
Get your questions answered and the referrals you need for physicians, physical therapists, complementary medicine practitioners, and more.
Space is limited and appointments early in the day are recommended. All exams are conducted clothed.
You do not have to participate in the BDA Open Call Audition, happening at the same time elsewhere at the Dance Complex, to participate in the Dancer Health Day screenings. Suggested donation is $5 for BDA members, $15 for nonmembers.
Boston Dance Alliance Dancer Health Day is conducted in partnerships with Dance/USA Task Force on Dancer Health and is made possible in part by donations to The Joe Gifford Fund, which supports BDA’s Annual Dancer Health Day and other dancer wellness initiatives in memory of a man who lived life to its fullest.
