Reach’s free performance will be held on the BU campus in the 766 Commonwealth Ave. parking lot on Wednesday, July 27, 7-8pm (originally July, 20). This summer, Reach: Summer Outreach Dance/Teen Apprenticeship Dance Program returns to meeting in-person and celebrates its 32nd anniversary! Since 1990, Reach has been providing training and mentorship to teen apprentices and bringing dance performances and workshops to Greater Boston neighborhood centers and 1,000 children. This is their only public performance. Three pieces of Dance Collective repertory, one each by co-founders, Martha Armstrong Gray and Dawn Kramer, as well as, one by Judith Chaffee, long-time artistic director, have been modified and included in the program along with new works created by the company. The pieces reflect the diversity of the participants, with Hip Hop, Step, modern, contemporary, jazz, and ballet represented. Bring a lawn chair or blanket.
