Prakriti: Dances of Life! invokes the art form’s technical mastery and storytelling to bring to life the richness of human experience.

Once every two years, Chhandika showcases the hard work of its students, ages 5-65 through the ancient Indian dance form from North India, Kathak. Under the direction of Gretchen Hayden and senior teachers, 100 dancers of all levels will highlight the elements of nature: Wind, Fire, Earth and Water through both technical mastery as well as storytelling. Known as an art form rooted in mythological storytelling, Prakriti will also engage the audience through live musicians and meaningful narration.
