Dance for World Community Festival Week kicks off with the Dance on Film Series, June 5-7, 2017 at The Brattle Theatre, Cambridge.

Jookin’ – a form of dance originating in Memphis in the 1980s was originally a way to keep gang warfare at bay. Pharaohs of Memphis explores the present day tension between the pioneers of the game and the stars of today with in-depth interviews and breathtaking dance footage.

Dance for World Community Festival Week concludes on Saturday, June 10 with Festival Day – a FREE daylong, indoor/outdoor celebration of dance featuring more than 80 Boston area dance groups!
