Forty Steps Dance free Perfomance Fisherman’s Wharf, Swampscott
Forty Steps Dance gets set to deliver another fun-filled outdoor summer performance in Swampscott, on Fisherman’s Beach, Saturday, August 6, at 5:30 p.m. (rain date August 7).
The troupe will present a new site-specific dance with specially adapted selections from its critically acclaimed “Spirits,” a new work that debuted in April of this year. “Spirits,” draws the audience into the summoning of apparitions from the earth to the sky and the dancers’ movements, influenced by the ebb and flow of the waves, draw energy from the ocean. The performance promises to be enhanced and intensified by the lively seaside setting at Fisherman’s Beach.
Now in its 23rd season, this year’s show, again funded by a generous grant from the Swampscott Cultural Council, draws on Swampscott’s character, celebrating its long-time association with the life and spirit of the sea. All ages are welcome and encouraged to attend.
