KAIROS will present an experimental work-in-progress performance of “Ministry of ♀”, a contemporary dance-theater piece exploring what it means to simply ‘be’ female in today’s world under the pressures of femininity objectified. Through the examination of media driven archetypes and clichés, “Ministry of ♀” illustrates the disturbing, unattainable standards created by gender stereotypes and society’s overall appropriation of the female experience.

Excerpts including solos, duets and group sections – some previously created and performed over the last two years, and some specifically made in collaboration with RWU’s freshman dancers – will be woven together for this special one-night performance.
