To celebrate Chhandika’s 15-year anniversary and the 5-year anniversary of its Youth Ensemble, Chhandika is proud to present a dynamic performance of dance, music, rhythm, drama and poetry by a powerful next generation of Kathak artists, carrying forward the legacy of Pandit Chitresh Das.
Shakti features elements of a traditional Kathak solo, highlighting works composed and choreographed by Pandit Chitresh Das. The production has been conceived and arranged by Youth Ensemble co-directors, Anjali Nath and Shefali Jain, with the support of Chhandika’s founder and artistic director, Gretchen Hayden.
