“In a time of a heated social and political discourse, Wagner used both diversity and common identity in the creation of art capable of meaningfully adding to that conversation, within one particular issue – diversity in the uniqueness of every involved choreographer and dancer, and common identity in self-identifying as female.” – KATHRYN BOLAND, DANCE INFORMA

For decades, we have found ourselves at a crossroads for gender equality. Today, social media and current politics have reignited these contentious conversations with fresh vigor. …that’s what she said invites a diverse cohort of femme dancers to mine their personal narratives, histories, and lineages, and to physicalize their experience as feminine beings. Bringing the results of their investigation to the stage, the artists of …that’s what she said defy our societal resistance to gender equality and challenge our societal habit of silencing women while celebrating the unique and dynamic force of the feminine voice. The works presented are both intimate and ubiquitous, reminding us all that at our core, we have much more in common than our divided world would lead us to believe.

Run Time: …that’s what she said plays in approximately 2 hours with one fifteen-minute intermission.

Join the artists for a free text and movement based community workshop before the show on Sunday, March 15 from 1-2pm. Pre-registration is required. Please use this form to register.
