Windhover Center for the Performing Arts is pleased to announce the return of New York City based Alison Cook Beatty Dance Company for the 2025 Quarry Dance Performances. This year, the quarry dance takes place at two lovely ponds, complete with a waterfall, and the space is easily accessible to the public.

Join us for an engaging celebration of dance, creativity, and natural beauty during this highly anticipated summer event. This performance is a dance created on-site and will serve as the culminating highlight of a week-long residency of the company at Windhover, showcasing the dancers’ dedication and artistry.

Alison Cook Beatty Dance is a NYC based modern dance company rooted in classical techniques, dedicated to exploring the universal human experience through expansive and emotionally expressive movement. The company draws on American modern dance principles while continually innovating with new methods to cultivate distinctive creative expression. The daring and athletic prowess of the 8 members is quite impressive, and the entire expanse of the meadow, frog pond and Millbrook Pond will be used.

Credo: The Quarry Dances were born in 2012 from Ina Hahn, the late founder of Windhover, who felt the importance of bringing the arts into the natural world. By staging and commissioning works on site, the beauty of the landscape is revealed while enjoying the art of the dance. The Quarry Dances also bring attention to these wondrous places, and helps bring about the care needed to protect, preserve and honor these special places. My aim is to bear witness to this precious world we live in and contribute to its preservation.
