As part of the 2016 Dance for World Community Festival Week, Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre presents TALK ABOUT DANCE: WHY ADVOCACY? a panel discussion and group conversation for dance artists, enthusiasts and supporters focused on advocacy in the arts community.

Those who love dance know and believe that it can change the world. But as artists, we know that the arts are often under attack, threatened by funding shortages and constantly undervalued. TALK ABOUT DANCE will explore how artists can advocate more effectively both for themselves and for the critical issues – ranging from homelessness to gender inequality to climate change – that impact our communities.
