The Cambridge Carnival Jamboree in Central Square celebrates the contributions of Caribbean residents of Cambridge and recognize the rich cultural heritage of the Caribbean diaspora through music. DH Ohh of Whistle and Bell Sound System will be spinning international tunes. The event is organized in collaboration with Central Square BID and is free to the public. Spice up your lunch during a virtual artist talk Thursday, September 8, 12-1 PM.. Kimberleigh Holman, Wanda Strukus, and Frank Criscione will discuss the thoughtful transformation of their research and how it is manifesting as Common Circus, a Boston Dancemakers Residency showcase cosponsored by BDA and premiering October 7 at BCA Plaza Theatres. Andrea Blesso, Director of Dance and Interdisciplinary Arts at BCA and the team’s guide through their Boston Dancemakers Residency moderates.
Dance Discovery Presents: Tiny Dances, Ten New England choreographers express big ideas on one tiny stage. Curated by Ali Kenner Brodsky, this free festival takes place on Purchase Street in front of the Zeiterion in New Bedford Thursday, September 8, 5:30 and 7:00 PM.
The wildly tragicomic writer, choreographer, and director Jack Ferver premieres their first full-length work in three years, Is Global Warming Camp? and other forms of theatrical distance for the end of the world, at Mass MoCa in the Berkshires. Ferver inhabits the distance of “the queer” to assume a unique narrative vantage point for assessing the mess we’re in. Thursday, September 8 -Saturday, September 10, 8 PM.
Gather at Boston City Hall Plaza for a House Dance Party featuring DJ Bruno, celebrating his 35th anniversary as the DJ for this event! Live performances include Lil Phunk, The Floorlords and a dance performance by Phunk Phenomenon. Friday, September 9, 5 PM-8 PM.
Experience Koneksyon at Starlight Square in Cambridge as Jean Appolon Expressions kicks of the season with a free evening of South African Street Dance, African Dance Workout, and Haitian-Folkloric Dance. Friday, September 9, 6-9 PM.
ZUMIX and Sen. Lydia Edwards’ office will present The East Boston Latin Music Festival: “Sonidos de la Gente” in Bremen Street Park in East Boston. The free festival consists of two stages, one presenting local live music acts and one presenting local dance ensembles. Dancers will include Salsa y Control, Samba Viva, and more. The Arts Festival at Westinghouse, will showcase The Lofts Gallery Opening show, Nightscapes, The Shape of Tears by choreographer Erica Schwartz with dancers Jeryl Palana Pilapil-Brown, Jason Jordan, Avery Saulnier de Reyes, Ashley Eng and Janelle Gilchrist. Event includes artist exhibits and sales, musical performance by Chrysalis and art activities for children.

LoveStrukk Outdoors presents Amine L (Morocco), dj beibei and Noise Artistry. LoveStrukk is about bringing those burner vibes to Boston and in the summer headliners play a three-hour set so they can really take you on a journey. LoveStrukk will also collaborate with Dancing on the Charles to have more outdoor events this fall.

Save the Date November 2 for NEFA Idea Swap at Mechanics Hall in Worcester. Back in person for its 20th year, the Idea Swap lets New England-based presenting organizations and touring artists network and share ideas for touring projects.
