9-10.30a – Intermediate (1-2 yrs ballet recommended) Choreography will have difficult elements – challenging even advanced dancers, modified for those w/ less experience. Barre reviews the principles/concepts of ballet & trains for proper placement, length, alignment. Center combinations bring us into space in relation to the room to enjoy movement inspired by the live musical accompaniment, culminating in a heart-pumping, cardio work-out of across-the-floor work. The exhilaration of a full-body workout & the fulfillment of an artistic experience! Also: Pointe Class* until 11 – gender-neutral class, introduces & reinforces pointe work (*by approval, 9am Ballet mandatory) A safe introduction for first-time pointe students; strengthening for people recovering from injuries; and back-to-basics for advanced dancers to increase understanding of dancing en pointe. Strengthens legs/ankles, improves balance/jumps & increases understanding of alignment and mechanics of ballet.
