Students in this class are familiar with all standard vocabulary and exercises, either from other StudioDCFA classes, or from prior dance experience. Movement sequences and combinations vary from class to class. Center exercises include elements from the warm-up, as well as stationary and locomotor movements, balances, turns, and small and large jumps. Pointe follows this class. An introduction or refresher course to get you familiar with the shiny shoes or to supplement your other ballet classes. There’s a world of difference between demi- and full pointe! Our focus will be on the articulation of the feet, “rolling through” the shoe correctly, keeping the ankles in a straight line, and maintaining proper alignment of the rest of the body.
