José Mateo Ballet Theatre is seeking an enthusiastic instructor for its Young Dancers Program – Ballet Level I and Ballet Level II (children ages 7 and above) – in both studio locations in Cambridge and Dorchester. Applicants must have experience in ballet and teaching dance to children. This position is a part-time role for commitment for the entire 2024-25 school year, from September through June.
Responsibilities include:
Assist in developing curriculum for the assigned ballet classes
Creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all students
Working closely with other teachers who teach the same level
Manage a classroom of children ages 7 and above
Ensure consistency in each student’s learning and maintain JMBT’s organizational philosophy
Attend mandatory faculty meetings throughout the year (TBC)
Prepare students for end of the year demonstration and repertory concert (May/June)
