Boch Center is seeking a Dance Teaching Artist for the 2026 City Spotlights Summer Leadership Program. The City Spotlights Summer Leadership Program is an arts-based youth employment program for 35-40 Boston resident teens. Teen Leaders participate in the 6-week program to develop their capacities as leaders in their communities; develop their understanding and awareness of social change as it relates to issues impacting their community; develop original performance material inspired by their own experiences and conversations, which culminates in a Final Showcase; strengthen their college and career readiness; and develop and facilitate arts-based educational workshops about social change and empowerment for young people in community centers, libraries, and camps throughout Boston.

Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Education, the Dance Teaching Artist will create curriculum for and facilitate the Dance specialty, during which approximately 10-13 teen employees will learn dance techniques and develop/perform original dance pieces for the Final Showcase. The Teaching Artist will also serve on the artistic team for the Final Showcase, under the direction of the Associate Director of Education. This position is seasonal, part-time beginning July 6 through August 14, with mandatory training in mid-late June 2026 (date TBD).

Duties include, but are not limited to:

· Developing curriculum for Dance specialty, including proper dance technique and devising of original material

· Creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for teen employees to self-choreograph original dance pieces on a social justice topic for the Final Showcase

· Working closely with Dance Teaching Artist Assistant, developing curriculum and facilitating rehearsals

· Collaborating with Education staff in the facilitation of a cohesive Final Showcase

· Incorporating Creative Youth Development principles into curriculum, allowing for youth agency and youth-led creation

· Maintaining a high level of artistic and professional standards for teen participants

· Attend Final Showcase on Wednesday, August 12th at 5:30pm

· Working cooperatively and collaboratively with members of Boch Center’s Education Department

· Supporting impact evaluation surveys and objectives as set forth by department

· Providing excellent leadership, mentorship and guidance for all teen employees

· Additional duties and responsibilities as needed

Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Education, the Dance Teaching Artist Assistant will assist in the facilitation of dance teaching blocks with the Dance teaching team and monitor teen employees during daily arrivals, lunch, transitions, and dismissals of the City Spotlights Summer Leadership Program. The Teaching Artist Assistant positions are seasonal positions from July 6 through August 14, with mandatory training in mid-late June 2026 (date TBD).
Each teaching artist assistant’s duties include, but are not limited to:

· Supervising 35-40 teen employees during morning arrival, transitions, lunch break, and afternoon dismissal

· Assisting the Dance Specialty Teaching Artist and Flashmob Choreographer during their teaching blocks

· Supporting Dance Teaching Artist in creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for teen employees to self-choreograph original dance pieces on a social justice topic for the Final Showcase

· Assist other Teaching Artists as needed (in music, advocacy, workshop development, acting, and flashmob)

· Facilitating community building exercises throughout the summer

· Supporting teaching staff throughout the day with group management and space monitoring

· Assisting with supervising teen employees off-site during tour week and Flashmob Day

· Serving as backstage monitors during tech week and the Final Showcase performance

· Monitoring and reporting any behavioral, emotional, or social issues or concerns about teen employees to program managers

· Assisting Education staff in daily operations for the program

· Providing excellent leadership, mentorship, and guidance for all students in the program

· Nurturing positive relationships with all Teen Leaders and Teaching Artists

· Supporting impact evaluation surveys and objectives as set forth by department

The Flashmob Teaching Artist position is a seasonal position – starting rehearsals on July 13 through Flashmob Day on July 22, with prior planning time and mandatory training in mid-late June 2026 (date TBD).

Duties include, but are not limited to:

· Choreographing, teaching, and supporting the creation of original dance routines to 35-40 Teen Leaders and transforming it to a fun and engaging Flashmob dance to perform in a variety of public settings in the city of Boston.

· Working closely, before the beginning of and during Flashmob rehearsals, with Dance Teaching Artist Assistant and Junior Assistant, developing original Flashmob choreography

· Creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for teen employees to self-choreograph and learn original choreography

· Maintaining a high level of artistic and professional standards for teen participants

· Working cooperatively and collaboratively with members of Boch Center’s Education Department

· Providing excellent leadership, mentorship, and guidance for all teen employees

· Attend Flashmob Day on July 22, 2026 from 9:30am – 4:30pm

The Field Center is seeking an experienced and motivated Financial and Strategic Development Director who is passionate about the value of the arts, creative movement practices and public performance. This part-time position works directly with the Executive Director and Director of Operations to develop and implement the strategic financial vision for a vibrant arts center and 501c3 organization.

POSITION GOALS

  • Develop long-term strategic financial plans for revenue generation, operational sustainability, and programatic growth.
  • Design, implement, and access initiatives and practices for funding short and long-term projects, with diversified revenue streams including grants, individual giving, and other earned revenue.
  • Develop and manage institutional systems for budgeting, patron and donor management, donor communications, grant-writing, and financial management and reporting.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Planning & Operations:

  • Develop and implement 2, 5, and 10 year Strategic Financial Plan, including creating budget projections and contingency plans.
  • Oversee operational budgets. Work with staff to maintain accurate data and report on results and projections.
  • Advance and assess plans for earned revenue, including participant fees, rental income, and other opportunities.
  • Spearhead quarterly financial reporting to the board of directors and manage end-of-year reporting and tax preparation in collaboration with accountant and bookkeepers.

Fundraising & Earned Revenue Development:

  • Implement a CRM database to track participants, grantors, donors, and prospects. Manage migration of current data and maintain databases in collaboration with staff.
  • Investigate and prioritize grant opportunities. Develop and oversee regional and national grant calendar.
  • Draft, edit, and ensure the impactful execution of grants in collaboration with staff and freelance grant writers.
  • Cultivate relationships with current and prospective donors, stakeholders, and leaders in the regional arts ecology.

 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

  • Part-time, salaried position.
  • ~30 hours a week.
  • Remote eligible with a minimum of 5 on-site days per calendar year.
  • 60k annualized salary.
  • Full access to all Field Center public programs/performances.
  • Healthcare benefits not included.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 6 years professional experience in financial management, fundraising, or strategic development for non-profits.
  • Experience developing and utilizing CRM and donor tracking.
  • Fluency in Quickbooks, Excel, and Google suite.
  • Experience with donor cultivation and direct communications.
  • Knowledge of the current non-profit and creative economies within in U.S.
  • Reliable, punctual, and responsive communicator.
  • Experience working in the arts a plus.
  • New England/Northeast resident a plus.
