Contact Improvisation is a post-modern dance form based on the spontaneous interaction between partners sharing a point of physical contact.

This organic-looking art-sport is an exploration of gravity, momentum and clear communication. It is also a kind of movement meditation. Practiced with curiosity, Contact Improvisation can expand our capacity for centered self-awareness and playfulness.

Neige asks: “How do we navigate all of Contact Improvisation’s openness without a map?!”
“As we learn to listen deeply through our bodies, we can notice the presence of our inner compass, and follow its lead. The more we experiment, the more we learn to trust in our ability to negotiate weight exchange in a satisfying way. We play with what inspires us, in solo movement as well as in relationship to our partners.”
Workshop is appropriate for dancers of all experience levels.
