Renaissance Dance Workshop at World Fellowship Center, Conway, NH
Part of the Early Music Week at the World Fellowship Center near Conway, NH.
Italian dance technique and repertory of the late 16th century, drawn from treatises by Caroso, Negri, and others. Mornings will be devoted to classes, each including a thorough warm-up, practice of steps and step sequences, and repertory. In the afternoons, students may join with other workshop participants in daily Feldenkrais classes and sessions devoted to music-making. A late-afternoon music class specifically for dance students — whatever their level of music expertise — will offer opportunities to learn music related to dance repertory.
For dancers or musicians with dance experience. No prior Renaissance dance training is necessary. Further information about Early Music Week (fees, accommodations, faculty, schedule) is available at earlymusicweek.org.
